It is nice to see that Nagoya has reached a point where every month has a nice event or two going on. Torture Technique is organized by Stigmatic. DoomSpider, the man behind Stigmatic, also fronts the loudest Goth band I have heard in Japan, Demonoid 13 who look forward to screaming at you! They will be joined by digital noise terrorists Utero ZZZ AAA, Smells, D.U.S., Comfortable Numb and ρEkullcrowρE

I am really serious about this point: Bring ear plugs! Seriously, the amps in Japanese clubs are way to powerful for the space and some people think MAX is the default setting! DoomSpider was even louder than my first experience of Scorpian Death Rock, which still left my ears ringing as I hid behind the sound-proofed doors at Area. Anyway… enjoy the sounds!

Torture Technique Vol. 7 by Stigmatic
Open: 18:00 :: Start: 18:30
Live: Demonoid 13, Utero ZZZ AAA, Smells, D.U.S., Comfortable Numb and ρEkullcrowρE
DJ: Xendat.

Shock, horror. I have lost Web access from the ferret dungeon. The little lords (them dang ferrets are higher lifeforms) are part of the reason why this site continues – I get to kill two birds with one stone giving you a regularly updated site and giving the little masters the activity time they need. Without the dungeon connected to the Web I have to choose between paying to go online at some smelly Internet cafe just to update the site or take care of the two fuzzy masters of JGoth towers. Fuzzies win every time.

Until I can get the dungeon reconnected, JGoth goes through another go-slow period. I will add a few more events for June when I can grab a couple of extra hours outside, but it will be quicker and dirtier than usual.

Club Walpurgis[Goth/80's - Live & DJ] Dubbed bELa LuGotH iS dEaD, Walpurgis is setting out to take you back to the days of Bauhaus. What else can I say? Zinny’s time machine can take you anywhere man!

Club Walpurgis began as a Goth/Punk club in the 1980′s and became a kind of underground mecca in its day. 18 years after the original club closed down Walpurgis returned as a regular event in 2005 with a heavy emphasis on 80′s alternative, glam, Gothic, industrial and electroclash. Club Walpurgis plays every third Saturday of the month.

Tokyo Dark Castle[Uber Goth-Industrial Live] Another night of madness awaits at Tokyo Dark Castle. TDC is the main regular Goth event in Tokyo run by Genet of Auto-Mod. Tonight promises a lethal mix of pure digital industrial from Despair and harsh, domineering rock-industrial from Destruct System. On top of that you have the lords of the castle, Auto-Mod, along with Stylus and Darkside Mirrors.

I have to say that the last TDC was an awesome spectacle and this one is look very tasty as well.

Tactical industrial outfit 2Bullet, off the frontlines for a number of months, are now back putting their next strategy into action. Rumors of an impending rally at Club Theatic on May 12 have surfaced and authorities suspect 2Bullet will be joining such notorious figures as Awi of Agent Murder, Aural Vampire, Demonoid 13 of the Nagoyan normal resistance and more. At the same time the outfit, led by Lt. DeeLee, have apparently issued a statement of intent for 2007. Although authorities are still determining the authenticity of the recording, sources close to the organization state that the video is indeed from the Lieutenant.

Recorded at an unspecified location in the Tokyo wastelands, the gasmasked figure of Lt. DeeLee outlines the next steps of the 2Bullet insurgency. 2Bullet’s intentions are simple, yet shocking to the establishment. Through the recording of new material and subsequent free release through the Internet, 2Bullet intend to sow the seeds of a new revolution in Japan and extend its influence into Europe, America and beyond.

The video has been made available through JGoth.com and other sites throughout the Gothasphere. To view the video simply click on the image below or access the 2Bullet propoganda machine @ YouTube.

JGoth.com has also obtained copies of previous videos of 2Bullet in live action. We warn that this video may be addictive to viewers.

[Goth - Fetish - Industrial - DJ & Live] Midnight Mess is a hot event and one of the main regular Goth events in Tokyo, taking place on the fourth Saturday of every month. Mess’ is a mix of live, DJ and performance and the general sound-scape is Gothic, fetish, dark, experimental and industrial. Recommended as a launch point for newbies and quite a nice place to go to on a regular basis.

Resident DJ’s STATIK (EBM, industrial, technoid) and TE2 (post punk, bat cave, Goth rock & industrial) will be there along with Selia’s baroque opera performance and some S and some M from MS. M. and a fetish performance to be announced later. Sounds cool.

As always with overnight events, entry is 18+ and drinking is 20+ (remember your ID).

TOKYO DARK CASTLE EXTRA — While at Tokyo’s largest Gothic event (Report here), I managed to take a little video of Baal performing Wreckage on stage! This is still my favorite song from the band and just pumps the crowd as you will see. Unlike previous JGoth home videos this one is quiet enough that you won’t have to rip your headphones off screaming “Igor! You C-Nut!” Yes, I discovered the volume control! Do you fancy a couple of minutes of the live Baal experience from the pit at TDC?

A special thanks to the band for giving me the okay to show this little viddy!

Want more? Check out Baal’s official site or Baal on MySpace for the real Baal experience!

There are a few other videos on my YouTube space, but beware… I didn’t know about the volume control for those.

My first overnight stay at Tokyo Dark Castle for over a year was damned exciting. The crowd set was a bit different from what I remember with only a few familiar faces, but they were pumped up and ready to scream. Golden Week is usually a pretty light time in terms of people turnout (because everybody runs away to their hometowns), but this event was pumping with a comfortably crowded Marz club and more cool fashion than you can point a sparkler at. Gothic, lolita, cyber, leather, fetish, dreg (uh me), and more.

Auto-Mod :: info
The bands were fiery hot. Auto-Mod were in fine form with a fantastic set featuring ye olde metal grinder (a real one flashing out sparks and shit), fireplay, and a meatier sound that showed these legends of the local scene can continue to deliver to today’s audience. The band has come a long way in the past 14 months, when I last saw the start of the change with the new line-up/arrangement.

Lloy :: info
Lloy smashed my pre-conceptions of thinking of them as a moody alt-rock band. These guys are hard rock with strong femme vocals making them a very hot item on stage. A number of people inside the scene told me they were damned good – I just didn’t know how good.

Baal :: info
I was primed by this time, but I was not prepared for the next act, my dear friends Baal. They just ripped shit up on stage and had the audience screaming and jumping. I have loved Baal’s live performances since I first saw the band as Chronotrigger in 2005 (A fresh, harsh industrial group who’ll blow you away), but Baal has kept on ratcheting up the intensity, power and its appeal to the point where it truly is one sexy beast! While they are my friends, I am being completely honest in my comments – they are that damned good!

Destruct System :: info
Finally I scoped Destruct System who I have seen quite often at a number of events. These guys are harsh hard rock that is just plain hot. Where Baal left off, DS took over turning the lower level into a grinding pit of Gothic flesh. They know how to connect and their sets are varied to suit the tastes of the night (metal, Gothic, electronic, etc.) so you will get something a bit different every time you see them. These guys are damned good and can ignite any crowd with their intensity.

So that wraps that up. Tokyo Dark Castle is bigger and flasher than ever. All the bands are stepping up the intensity to deliver an array of hard-hitting sounds that will soon be able to shed the “J” moniker and be considered as part of the global Goth scene. And the crowd is growing all the time.

As for me personally, turning up after a long hiatus as a cybernetic entity, it was kind of strange. There were some familiar faces, but I am a stranger again. It was good to catch up with a few good friends and see just how far the scene has progressed in the past 12 months.

There is also some great stuff afoot with a some fuck yeah! news, a couple of viddies but more on that stuff later…
