A small snippet of news for you. The Ueda College of Fashion have announced a new course for 2011 in Gothic and Lolita fashion design, reflecting its unique Japanese origins. This does not have much to do with the Gothic scene in Japan (although EGL is represented to a small extent at events), but is an interesting development showing that Gothic Lolita-ism as a growing trend.

Well, well, it’s finally time to get back into the scene! A big thanks to Nekoi @ Psydoll for the invitation to the Machinery Magic event last month. It was an awesome event with Psydoll, Neurotic Doll, CHC System and Custom Mummy delivering some fantastic music throughout the night.

Stay tuned as Igor gets his black-blooded juices moving flowing again to venture yet another time into Japan’s underground with Japanese Gothic and industrial event information, pictures & viddies, and reports.

Psydoll performing @ Urga in Shinjuku, Tokyo on Saturday, May 29.

Under construction

Thank you for visiting. The site is now under construction with an opening expected at the beginning of June.

Just a quick note to let you know that the JGoth.com blog (formerly the JGoth.com community Web site, which was formerly the JGoth.com blog – lol), has moved to blog.jgoth.com. The www.jgoth.com Web space will now be a bulletin board for those into the Japanese gothy industrial scene to talk more freely. Also note that Igor runs a global Gothic community site at www.gothers.com (around 3,800 members and counting).

Cheers from the dungeon.

I have gone through most of the CDs that I have received relatively recently and don’t have any CDs left to review. Anyone want their CD reviewed? Just contact me via “Contact us” above.

Sometime early yesterday Gothers.com crossed the 2,500 member threshold. I would like to thank each and everyone for joining up with Gothers. THANK YOU!!

As a small token of my appreciation I have decided to put on 22 hours of power where I will stay online from Sunday 2 a.m. through to midnight Japan Standard time. You can work out what time it is in Japan here:
http://www.worldtimeserver.com/current_time_in_JP.aspx
And see all time zones at:
http://www.worldtimeserver.com/worldclock.aspx

I am not exactly sure what I am going to do as entertainment, but will be online and in the chatroom to talk things up. I also hope to do a CD review of Fashion Bomb!

This will appear on my Japan (and others) Goth blog at:
http://www.jgoth.com/

So, if you have any time to give Gothers a little spin, the Web slob will be online around Saturday to Sunday depending on your time zone. Remember Igor will be online on Sunday from 2 am to midnight Japan time.

Cheers!

Tonight I decided not to go to a really hot-looking event in Ikebukuro Chop which included, among others, Jet Pepper Tower and Speed-ID. It is kind of depressing being here in my tower missing out on these things. Hopefully there will be another wild night at Chop or Urga that I can go to.

Actually tomorrow night there will be a good event at Urga with bands like Nicht and (drool) Destruct System. Hmm, maybe I will have the energy to go there.

[Uber Goth-Industrial Live & DJ] Finally, the second half schedule for TDC. Tokyo Dark Castle (TDC) is the main event for the Gothic underground in Tokyo. Populated by the best-dressed Goths from all walks of life TDC delivers some of the best live acts and DJs in the scene. This makes TDC a must on any Goth agenda.

TDC have the second half’s event schedule for 2009 and rather than do a single post each time the event is set to roll.

Unless otherwise stated, TDC begins at 12 midnight Saturdays and goes through to the early morning (around 6 a.m.). Remember that as with all overnight events you need photo ID to enter. View full article »

He’s Baaaack!

After another three-month hiatus to focus on Gothers.com Igor is back in command with his own blog site.

Apologies to those who have been waiting for the next installment of Igorian text. I haven’t been out much, but have been picking up a couple of CDs to review and a few other items. Then, of course, there are the more commercial items that help pay the bills! Stay tuned!
