[Alt-elektronicka-Cyber Live] Now this is an interesting one – Daybook’s full of surprises! The idea behind this event is that the lead vocals for the bands are femme – too cool! The big news for me is that Psydoll are appearing in Code Rouge (Nekoi came up with the name) – Cyber-Goths go yay! The other acts are beyond my small realm of knowledge, but I skarfed one electronicka-experimental, Saill, and I do believe Sredni Vashtar are a dark future pop unit that did a Club Cybernetics gig last year.

Definitely one event worth checking out. If’n you do go, say hello to Nekoi and the Psydoll crew! Starts early so you can get primed for TDC at midnight. Also, the 1,500 yen pre-book price keeps the budget under control.

@ Head Power Shinjuku TOKYO
Open: 17:00 :: Start: 17:30
Live: Psydoll (info), Sredni Vashtar, Saill, Original Sin, 宁E

Tokyo Dark Castle[Uber Goth - LIVE & DJ!!] Japan’s biggest regular live underground event featuring quality underground bands from around the nation. Tonight is a special night as Speed-ID are getting set to release their new album (although actual release is unclear to my hazed mind). Speed-ID are true Goth rock and roll and do that sound damned well (hey, Midori’s on the bass!!). This band has the psychedelia from the 70s punk revolt nicely packed into a dark modern sound. You will also get dosed up with some Twisted Clock, Destruct System, Auto-Mod and an ex-Vex in The Hameln.

Tokyo Dark Castle @ Marz Shinjuku

Live: Auto-Mod, Destruct System, Speed-ID, Twisted Clock – ex. Calmando Qual and The Hameln.

IH#5 has Lloy’s moody acoustics with sultry vocals playing alongside the masters of Tokyo Dark Castle, Auto-Mod. It is also a special event for Lloy who will be releasing their first E.P. on the night. This is worth checking out.

[Punk - New Wave - Neo Psychedelic - Electronca] This DJ’d event delivers sounds from stacks of bands that the alties and the oldies will probably love (or loathe): The Damned, The Cure, Buzzcocks, Primal Scream, My Bloody Valentine, Sonic Youth and more.

I’d turn up just to hear a few Damned trax… I think I just might. Anyway, a fine way to spend an April fooshish Sunday.

Gothika[Sexed Up Electronicka!] Andro, #449 and Nao are setting up for a second invasion of Europe with an eight-date tour will take them through Finland, Norway, Denmark, Latvia and Russia! I have the maximum respect for this band for just going out there and getting shit done. They are also a really nice bunch of guys who have created a unique sexy sound with a delicate twist of macabre. I fully recommend them for both the music and live performance.

[Goth - Fetish - Industrial - DJ & Live] Midnight Mess is a hot event and one of the main regular Goth events in Tokyo, taking place on the fourth Saturday of every month. Mess’ is a mix of live, DJ and performance and the general sound-scape is Gothic, fetish, dark, experimental and industrial. Recommended as a launch point for newbies and quite a nice place to go to on a regular basis.

Tonight they have a performance from Selia, Canadian band Bizune, some knotting from Maya, 10% discount on CD-Gold music plus a whole mess of good DJ’ing.

As always with overnight events, entry is 18+ and drinking is 20+ (remember your ID).

JGoth Bonus If you forget to book, just say you are on the JGoth list and get the pre-book discount!

[Electro-pop, Goth-electronicka release party, and experiement!] Now this looks like a fun night. Not only do you get the sukisuki elepo (translates to really love electro-pop, but you also have a release party for Sopor Aeternus (Germany) and Virgins O.R. Pigeons (Greece), and some trading of a virtual currency called Gears allowing you to pick up music and media during the event.

The sukisuki elepo is originally a non-profit electronic music event meant to promote synthpop, EBM, and electronic music in general, and recently have also added a gothic dimension as well. Here’s the Suki-Suki Elepo site – they have an English board, but centurion has been nice enough to give the info below….

I would like to let everyone know about the next sukisuki elepo event on the 31st of this month.

Aside from the main event, we will have presentations on many bands, and release parties for both the new Sopor Aeternus(Germany, on Trisol/Apocalyptic Vision) and Virgins O.R. Pigeons (Greece, on CureCreate). It will be at Socio in America Mura, Osaka on the 31st. Here is the info on the flyer:

Sukisuki elepo @ Socio America Mura OSAKA
Price: 1,300 yen (2 drinks + 3 Gears)
A Gear is money for getting mp3s, movies, photos, and text data and more of whatever you want in suki-ele.
Contact (until the day before suki-ele):
info [@] sukisuki-elepo.com

More info on Gears
At this event, there are some computers set up that can be hooked up to the internet. Whenever someone buys a Gear, they can
use the computer and link to the band’s website. They can then print out text information, burn available movies or mp3s, or browse or print photos. The other DJs at the event will also be doing presentations on bands as well.

Sukisuki elepo will also feature a WORLD exclusive special Sopor Aeternus lottery where the following prizes can be won:
1st prize: An exclusive Sopor Aeternus photoset (i.e. limited to 1 copy worldwide!)
2nd prize: 3rd prize: The new Sopor Aeternus LP
4th-10th prize: A Sopor Aeternus t-shirt

Thanks

DJ Helvete (aka centurion)

Cheers centurion!

[Electro-rock/hard alternative] I really like Electrock Circus because it has a good mix of acts seeking to electrolyze you. With around six or so acts each event, you will always get your money’s worth.

Tonight scores double darkness with Destruct System laying on the mad industrial scream and Sino working some wicked elektro ax-work. The night also includes Japanese Babies, Duct Projects, Hiroshima Denryoku (yay!) and more.

[Gothy, industrial, and more] A splendid arrangement of acts by Blood including performances from Despair and Rose de Reficul et Guiggles. Considering there are seven bands, I would like to see one more act from the dark side at Blood’s mix events, but it looks quite palatable.

Darkest Labyrinth vol.2 @ Cyber
Open: 15:30 :: Start: 16:30
Live: Blood (info), Rose de Reficul et Guiggles (info), The Candy Spooky Theater, Despair (info), Syaranosui, Suicide Ali and Heisabyoutou.
