Now this looks hot Tokyoites! Zeus Machina, are relaunching Club Walpurgis on August 20. The origins of the event stretch back to the early 1980s.

The legendary Gothic Punk Club, Club Walpurgis opened in Shinjuku in 1982. ZIN was the main organizer. Soon, this club became quite popular among people such as musicians, photographers and artists. Overseas musicians & artists like The Cult, Nick Cave, John Sex, Kurtis Knap visited the club.

Yes, this is the product’s intended use – showing kids that they cannot always get what they want. I’m not sure if that is the best way to teach children this lesson in life, but it may be a minor cult hit in the making – and you know there are going to be maniacs collecting stuff like this.
It was exhibited on late-night TV with a kid opening a present to discover this wooden monstrosity in the box and subsequently bawling his eyes out. The resulting argument with parents and ongoing temper tantrum shown in the TV simulation seemed to focus on the angst caused rather than any meaningful results, but who knows…
